About this role

Join Exowatt's optics team as an Optomechanical Integration & Test Engineer to design and operate measurement systems that validate precision solar tracking hardware. You'll own the full lifecycle from test planning through data analysis across indoor benches, high-flux facilities, and outdoor test stands, working hands-on with optical alignment, radiometry, and AI-driven instrumentation.

What you'll do

  • Design and build test fixtures, optical benches, and instrumented stands for precision optics validation
  • Develop test plans and execute measurement campaigns to verify optical performance under field conditions
  • Integrate sensors, data acquisition systems, and Python automation to capture and analyze thermal and radiometric data
  • Commission and operate high-flux test facilities and outdoor on-sun test stands
  • Collaborate with optics and structures teams to troubleshoot performance gaps and iterate test methodology
  • Develop AI agents and autonomous systems to run long-duration tests and manage complex measurement workflows
