Hunter Douglas seeks an Automation Projects Engineer to design and implement automated manufacturing systems across North American plants. You'll lead automation initiatives from concept through startup, managing PLCs, robotics, vision systems, and industrial controls while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement.

What you'll do

  • Lead automation and controls scope for new equipment, production lines, and manufacturing initiatives
  • Design, program, and deploy PLCs, HMIs, robotics, vision systems, VFDs, and industrial networks
  • Define project scope, technical specifications, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation
  • Manage multiple automation projects while tracking cost, schedule, and performance targets
  • Coordinate vendor selection, design reviews, FATs, SATs, installation, and system startup activities
  • Support machine connectivity, data acquisition, and MES/IT platform integration
