About this role

Muon Space seeks a Facilities Engineer II to design, build, and maintain next-generation spacecraft manufacturing facilities in San Jose. You'll lead infrastructure projects, manage MEP and HVAC systems, coordinate with contractors and internal teams, and ensure facility operations meet aerospace manufacturing standards.

What you'll do

  • Lead facilities and infrastructure projects from engineering through commissioning and maintenance
  • Oversee HVAC, cleanroom, fire protection, and security system repairs and upgrades
  • Resolve design and construction conflicts in real-time with internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage capital expenditure projects and verify budget, timeline, and technical specification compliance
  • Obtain building permits and coordinate final inspections with local authorities
  • Respond to facility emergencies and maintain facility readiness for environmental threats

  • MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) design and installation
  • HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, and HEPA filtration
  • Electrical power distribution and critical infrastructure (UPS, generators, transfer switches)
  • Project management and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) coordination
  • Building codes and standards (NEC, ASHRAE, NFPA, IBC)
  • AutoCAD or Revit design software
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of facility systems
  • Aerospace or large industrial construction experience
