About this role

Orion Innovation seeks an experienced Cloud/AI Developer to design and maintain Java-based, cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform that handle image-centric workflows. The role involves building secure, scalable services for image capture, processing, and distribution, with integration of AI capabilities and close collaboration across DevOps, QA, and security teams.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based cloud-native applications using modern engineering practices and GCP
  • Build and operate image processing pipelines including validation, transformation, metadata extraction, and lifecycle management
  • Create and maintain RESTful APIs with versioning, documentation, and backward compatibility for internal and external partners
  • Implement AI-enabled image capabilities such as classification, OCR, redaction, and similarity search using managed services
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code for repeatable deployments and environment consistency
  • Ensure security compliance through secure coding, IAM controls, encryption, auditing, and implement observability practices
