About this role
Profluent, an AI-first protein design company, seeks a Machine Learning Scientist to lead research on pretraining large-scale deep learning models for biomolecular applications. You'll design generative models for protein engineering, optimize pretraining infrastructure, and collaborate across computational and experimental teams to advance the company's scientific vision.
What you'll do
- Design and develop autoregressive, diffusion, and representation learning models for protein design
- Collaborate with ML and protein design teams to adapt pretraining techniques to biomolecular deep learning
- Build and optimize infrastructure for pretraining protein language models at scale
- Curate datasets and design evaluation tasks for generative model assessment
- Implement and analyze computational approaches, presenting findings in regular team meetings
- Help shape the scientific and strategic direction of the company within an interdisciplinary team
