About this role
Relativity Space seeks a Propulsion Engineer I to own combustion device components for the Terran R rocket engine, from design through flight qualification. You'll have rare end-to-end responsibility for thermally and structurally critical hardware operating under extreme conditions, coordinating across disciplines in a collaborative, ownership-driven culture.
What you'll do
- Own assigned combustion components across full lifecycle: design, manufacturing, testing, qualification, and flight
- Apply thermodynamics, thermal, structural, and fluids engineering to solve combustion device challenges
- Coordinate across propulsion and other engineering disciplines to ensure hardware decisions meet requirements
- Support engine development and testing activities for the Terran R vehicle
- Participate in design iterations for future engine modifications and mass production optimization
- Maintain accountability for component performance and flight readiness
