About this role
Relativity Space seeks a Weld Engineer I to develop and optimize fusion welding processes for the Terran R rocket in Long Beach. You'll collaborate across design, manufacturing, and quality teams while providing technical support to resolve production welding challenges and maintain high-quality outputs on critical stage hardware.
What you'll do
- Develop and optimize fusion welding processes for Terran R in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Provide technical support to manufacturing operations and troubleshoot welding production issues
- Serve as accountable weld engineer for stage hardware including transfer tubes, fluid assemblies, grid fins, bellows, and heat shields
- Ensure process quality control, documentation, and compliance with required standards and specifications
- Implement corrective actions and continuous improvements to maintain output quality
- Support rapid resolution of production welding challenges
