About this role

Rocket Lab seeks a Manufacturing Engineer I to optimize assembly and integration processes for spacecraft and rocket production. You'll conduct feasibility studies, drive design-for-manufacturability collaboration, engineer factory systems, troubleshoot production issues, and lead continuous process improvements in a fast-paced space manufacturing environment.

What you'll do

  • Prepare feasibility studies and conduct manufacturing R&D projects to evaluate new processes and technologies
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to incorporate Design for Manufacture principles ensuring scalable, robust production
  • Design, procure, install, and validate assembly, test, and verification processes for factory operations
  • Support development builds and production ramp-up by identifying and resolving technical issues early
  • Diagnose production failures through deep technical investigation and implement root cause corrective actions
  • Drive process improvements and manage change control assessments across manufacturing, test, and integration
