Engineer, Whole Vehicle Test Requirements and Validation – Body Exterior
About this role
Scout Motors seeks an engineer to define and execute whole-vehicle validation for body exterior systems, including doors, seals, lighting, and fit-and-finish. You'll establish test strategies for extreme environments, manage cross-functional alignment, and ensure exterior components meet real-world performance requirements across electric and range-extended powertrains.
What you'll do
- Own validation strategy and execution for body exterior systems including closures, sealing, water management, wind noise, and lighting
- Define test protocols for extreme environmental conditions, corrosion exposure, durability routes, and pressure washing scenarios
- Establish validation routes, environmental chamber profiles, and aerodynamic/vibration scenarios representing worst-case conditions
- Provide real-world environmental data and structural load inputs to guide component and system design decisions
- Coordinate cross-functional validation alignment across Body, Closures, Sealing, Lighting, Electrical, Manufacturing, and Supplier Quality teams
- Develop and manage vehicle-level test cases for exterior system behavior, automated closures, roof systems, and trim durability
