About this role
Scout Motors seeks an Engineer to lead whole-vehicle validation for propulsion systems in electric and range-extended pickup trucks and SUVs. You'll define validation strategies, establish test protocols, and ensure propulsion performance across real-world driving scenarios including towing, off-road use, and extreme conditions.
What you'll do
- Own validation definition and execution for propulsion vehicle attributes including drivability, performance, efficiency, thermal management, and capability
- Define validation strategies for limit operating conditions, edge cases, and propulsion system design requirements
- Establish validation routes, duty cycles, and environmental conditions representing worst-case scenarios
- Serve as authority on real-world vehicle loads, environmental conditions, and customer usage profiles
- Develop and manage vehicle-level test cases for propulsion behavior, charging, towing, payload, and off-road capability
- Translate functional requirements into executable test procedures, instrumentation strategies, and validation plans
