About this role
Zoox seeks a Safety Test and Validation Engineer to oversee crash testing and vehicle safety validation for autonomous electric vehicles. You'll plan and execute comprehensive safety tests across multiple facilities, manage test coordination globally, and ensure compliance with safety standards through detailed post-test analysis and documentation.
What you'll do
- Plan, track, and execute safety test activities including crash tests and hardware validation
- Develop crash test requests and collaborate with integration teams on instrumentation requirements
- Serve as technical interface to external testing facilities with on-site support in US and EU
- Coordinate test vehicle preparation, execution, teardown, and rebuild cycles
- Conduct post-test data analysis, verify data integrity, and present findings to engineering teams
- Log and track safety issues in Jira and ensure compliance with FMVSS and consumer safety protocols

- Python, MetaPost, or Hypergraph scripting (preferred)
