About this role
SpaceX seeks a Process Controls Engineer to design and optimize automation systems for high-efficiency solar cell manufacturing at their Bastrop facility. You'll develop PLC programs, SCADA systems, and instrumentation for gas farms and wastewater treatment while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations in a 24/7 production environment.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain PLC automation systems and SCADA for gas farm operations and wastewater treatment processes
- Develop PLC control logic, PID loops, and interlocks for real-time monitoring of pressure, temperature, flow, pH, and effluent quality
- Select, calibrate, and integrate field instrumentation in hazardous environments meeting SIL, ATEX, and EPA/NPDES standards
- Lead commissioning, FAT/SAT testing, and troubleshooting with root-cause analysis to support 24/7 operations
- Design electrical systems compliant with NEC, NFPA, and UL508A regulations
