About this role
WFAA-TV Dallas seeks a full-time Broadcast Engineer to maintain and support the station's broadcast and IT infrastructure across studio, transmitter, and remote locations. The role balances ongoing equipment maintenance with immediate troubleshooting needs in a 24/7 news operation.
What you'll do
- Maintain broadcast and IT equipment at studios, transmitter sites, and remote broadcast vehicles
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues, implementing solutions to keep operations running
- Support daily news operations and computer-based IT systems across the station
- Perform security updates and routine maintenance on broadcast servers
- Document technical specifications of installed equipment and systems
- Assist with remote production field work and occasional building maintenance
What they're looking for
- Broadcast engineering and equipment maintenance (5-7 years experience)
- Computer hardware and network technologies
- Microsoft Active Directory environment administration
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving under pressure
- Technical project planning and communication
- Physical capability: lifting 50 lbs, ladder work, wiring installation
- Time management and independent work
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate news vehicles
