About this role
Varda seeks a Flight Software Engineer to develop reliable embedded software for spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules operating in low Earth orbit. You'll own the full software lifecycle from requirements through testing and flight operations, working with C++ on bare metal and real-time systems.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain flight software that controls spacecraft behavior throughout orbital missions
- Write structured C++ code for embedded processors using bare metal, RTOS, or Linux environments
- Lead software design, testing, integration, and verification activities end-to-end
- Capture requirements and conduct design trade studies for open-ended technical problems
- Perform software verification, validation, and performance testing to ensure system quality
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on problem-solving and technical communication
